ok for broccoli i have a steamer which is lovely. if you don't just put like 1/4 to 1/2 cup water in a pan bring to boil and put your veggies inside of it until they are tender.
for asparagus i boil water and put them in for 3 minutes...that is pretty much the perfect time i've figured..not to soft & not to hard.
carrots are great steamed or sauteed in a pan with olive oil and garlic.
