why i decided to detox....

day 2 and day 3 are usually the days you need to pull the book out. i say that because unless you have read all the reasons to do the detox and the benefits it is easy to quit. i know some of you know how i got on the detox but some of you may not. basically i herniated 2 discs in my back about 2 months after i had landon. i was in extreme pain and the specialists recommended doing a series of steroid epidural injections into my back. anyways i had 3 in quite a short time period. of course they don't tell you the side effects but they were awful. the most awful was that i had my period for 3 months (sorry if it's tmi). they were like, " well, just get on birth control". i started doing some online research and found that women all over were experiencing the same side effects and the dr's were like well we don't know. during that time i came across this article in the life time fitness magazine. i was curious because the detox looked well researched and wasn't extreme (as in no eating for several days). i bought the book and thought this is worth a try. all to say the day after i did the juice fast my period stopped and i seriously felt like i was back to my old self.
so if you need some added motivation...read the book:)

if you are open to it, it will totally change your life & the way you view food.
my husband and i do it about 3 times a year.
